🎤 Flin Flon Singer-Songwriter Showcased on Provincial Stage

Held as part of the Manitoba Showcase 2015, the event brings together top industry professionals and emerging performers from across the province. CC, alongside three other artists, was chosen to perform and network during the four-day showcase hosted in his hometown of Flin Flon, Manitoba.
This has lit a fire in me to represent northern Manitoba music in a way that makes my community and my family proud, he said from his home in Flin Flon.
While CC already has two albums under his belt, the music he prepared for the showcase was entirely new — autobiographical and rooted deeply in his northern Manitoba heritage.
Beyond the stage, this experience marked a deeply personal milestone.
My primary interest in going for this goal was about facing fears, he shared.
I’ve missed out on opportunities because of fear of rejection or fear of being criticised. But I faced that fear this time.
CC credits the encouragement of Flin Flon’s vibrant arts community, especially Mark and Crystal Kolt, for motivating him to apply. Since returning to Flin Flon three years earlier, he had launched his second album, Tiny Army: The D. Holmes Sessions, performed in numerous local shows, and played a key role in Les Misérables with the Flin Flon Community Choir.
This is a very unique city,” he adds. “I see opportunities left, right and centre, and I feel inspired about where we are going.
While the Emerging Artists Showcase performance itself was closed to the public due to space limitations, fans could catch him later that weekend during open mic events at The Unwinder Lounge.
The Manitoba Arts Network, in partnership with Manitoba Music, developed the showcase to help new talent connect and grow. According to the organisers, it's about helping musicians like CC understand what’s expected when navigating the professional music world.
