Flin Flon’s own CC Trubiak has embarked on a new journey—one rooted in deep passion, rich history, and a whole lot of country soul. This time, the stage is digital, and the spotlight is on seven iconic women of country music.

Welcome to CC’s Vinyl Closet, a heartfelt YouTube series celebrating the powerful voices of the “Honky Tonk Angels”:
Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, Dolly Parton, Olivia Newton-John, Tanya Tucker, Linda Ronstadt, and Emmylou Harris.

“They all represent different aspects of country music to me,” Trubiak explains. “This project felt like my calling—to champion this music, to dive into its roots, and to have fun with it.”

Each of the 22 episodes blends storytelling, performance, history, and art. Trubiak covers classic songs, shares stories behind the records, and even showcases hand-drawn caricatures and stage backdrops featuring his musical heroines.

🎨 A Multi-Faceted Tribute

What makes this project unique isn’t just the music—it’s the creativity.
Trubiak poured his artistic heart into every piece of the project, from illustrations and song covers to commentary rooted in research and reverence.

🌐 A Project Born From the Pandemic

Originally planned as a live tribute event at Johnny’s Social Club in 2020, the pandemic shifted Trubiak’s vision into something more personal—and global.

“I put away social media for a while to care for my mental health,” he says. “That break led me back to vinyl, to my roots, to the music I love. And it sparked this whole idea.”

Armed with a collection of 300+ vintage records and a lifetime of admiration, CC Trubiak transformed isolation into inspiration.

🧡 Why This Matters

For Trubiak, the Honky Tonk Angels are more than influences—they’re voices of comfort, resilience, and spirit.

“This gave me a way to stay creative, to stay sane, and most importantly—to share joy during a hard time.”
